On the morning of October 19th, the 110thanniversary kiln fire relay activity of Jingdezhen Ceramic University started in front of theFineArtsMuseum of Ceramic Art Center, Xinchang Campus. The university presented a gift to the upcoming 110thanniversary in its unique way.
Mei Shican, Party Secretary ofJCU, announced the start of the kiln fire relay and lit the No.1 torch. Lv Pinchang, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President ofJCUdelivered a speech. More than 350 people attended the launch ceremony, including Honorary President Qin Xilin, former leaders Zhou Jianer, Xiao Renxian, Jiang Weihui, Ning Gang, Zeng Xiangtong, senior professors Zhou Guozhen, Hu Guolin, Zhang Baiqing, and members ofJCUleadership team Wu Benrong, Zhan Qi 'an, Wang Haibo, Feng Hao, Lv Jinquan, Chen Yunxia, Yang Zhimin, Zeng Desheng, Zhang Yilai, alumni representatives such as Bao Jiejun, representatives of retired teachers and teachers of the College of Science,Technology and Art,JCU. Hu Linrong, Deputy Party Secretary, presided over the ceremony.
Deputy Party Secretary andVice President ofJCU, Lv Pinchang in his speech, pointed out that the university's 110thanniversary kiln fire relay activity is very symbolic and significant. It includes the kiln fire collection, fire relay and lighting Taiping Kiln.During the whole kiln fire relay process,there will be110 kiln fire relay hands, 1100 kiln fire guard hands, 16 fire collecting girls and more than 20,000 teachers and students to participatethe activity, creating a strong atmosphereof everyone taking partin the celebration, showing the positive spirit ofJCU.
He said,“the 110thanniversary kiln fire relay activity is a unique way to show the school-running characteristics ofJCU, fully reflecting its firm beliefinstickingtothe mission of ’revitalizing the Chinese ceramic industry, and carrying forward Chinese ceramic culture’, showing the confidence ofJCUto build‘a world-renowned university’. 110 torcheswill berelayed onthiscampus with deep ceramic culture. The torch relay is simply not just the transfer of torch itself, but the crossing of knowledge and the sublimation of the school spirit. It will certainly promote the sense of unity.Like the seeds of a pomegranate being together, with more initiative,let usmake great efforts to fulfill the goal of buildingJCUinto a world-renowned university.”
At the event site, former leaders Qin Xilin and Zhou Jianer held high the fires collected from Gaomen, Poyang County and Gaoling, Fuliang County, where ChinaCeramic School was founded. The roaring kiln fire was burning more and more flourishing with the good hopes of everyone atJCU. "With a long history, a good fame and the flaming kiln fire,JCUis bound to have a smooth journey ahead." Party Secretary Mei Shican composed a poem, and lit the No.1 torch to begin the relay.
More than ten thousand teachers and students shouted together "passing the ceramic flame to celebrate the 110thbirthday".The110- torch relay was completed on three campuses: the Xinchang Campus, the China Institute of Light Industrial Ceramics Campus and Xianghu Campus. Teachers, students and alumni participated in the relay. The whole kiln firerelaywas streamed live by Douyin, with 126,000 people watching online.This relay is not only the transmission of the kiln fire, but also the continuation of the wishes forJCU.
It is reported that the kiln fire relay was completed on the three campuses ofJCU. The fire will light the Taiping Kiln on the site of the theme conference of the 110thanniversary on October 20, which means thatJCUhas 110 years of history and culture and has achievedoutstanding talent training achievements.
