On the morning of May 21, Academician John Loughhead of the Royal Academy of Engineering, along with his delegation, visited our university for research and exchange. Vice President Chen Yunxia warmly received Professor Loughhead and his delegation, and held a symposium in Conference Room 703 of the Administration Building at the Xianghu Campus. Relevant heads from the Office of Science and Technology, the Journal Editorial Office, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the Institute of New Energy Materials and Devices attended the meeting.
At the symposium, Chen Yunxia introduced the university's background. She pointed out that Jingdezhen Ceramic University is the only multidisciplinary university in the country named after ceramics, which boasts a long history. In recent years, the university has fully leveraged its specialized disciplines and professional advantages to engage in deep cooperation with several universities and research institutions abroad in areas such as professional development, cultural exchange, and artistic creation. She expressed hope to establish a bridge for communication with the Royal Academy of Engineering in the field of new energy development, strengthen cooperation and exchange in the new energy industry chain, and utilize each other's strengths for mutual development.
ProfessorLoughhead expressed his gratitude for the warm reception from the university. He stated that JCU has distinct educational characteristics and a high level of internationalization. He hopes to use this visit as an opportunity to further deepen the collaboration and exchange between both parties in areas such as ceramic materials and talent cultivation. By working together, he aims to achieve resource sharing and draw on each other’s strengths, contributing to the promotion of international exchange between the two countries.
