On September 16, 2024, Stanford University and Elsevier Date Repository jointly released the seventh edition of the World’s Top 2% Scientists, including Career-Long Impact Ranking and Single-Year Impact Ranking. Professors Wang Yongqing and Zeng Xiaojun from the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Jingdezhen Ceramic University were selected for the Single-Year Impact Ranking.
The ranking is based on Scopus database citation metrics and evaluates scientists across 22 major disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines using six key indicators, including total citations, H-index, and HM factor. From nearly 7 million scientists worldwide, the list highlights the top 2% based on their academic influence. A total of 223,151 scientists globally were named in the Single-Year Impact Ranking, including 27,165 scientists from China.
