Recently, the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education announced the list of universities selected as the first batch of International People-to-People Exchange Base Institutions for 2024. After a rigorous application process, on-site defense, and expert evaluation, Jingdezhen Ceramic University achieved second place in the comprehensive assessment, becoming one of only five institutions in the province to earn this distinction.

In recent years, JCU has leveraged its multidisciplinary strengths and international educational resources to promote cultural exchange through ceramics. By embracing ceramics as a medium, the university has expanded the scope and depth of its international collaborations. Notable achievements include the establishment of flagship cultural exchange programs such as the Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale, the overseas Tang Ying Ceramic Workshop cultural centers, and the “CeramicRoad” International Ceramic Education Alliance. These initiatives have broadened international cooperation, shared the story of ceramics with global audiences, and amplified China’s cultural voice on the world stage.
Being designated as an International People-to-People Exchange Base marks a significant step in JCU’s strategy to internationalize Chinese ceramics. Moving forward, the university plans to further enhance its international collaboration platforms, deepen ties with global educational institutions, and expand opportunities for its faculty and students to engage internationally. These efforts will contribute to the high-quality development of the Jingdezhen Ceramic Cultural Heritage and Innovation Experimental Zone and advance JCU’s goal of becoming a world-renowned ceramic-focused university.
