On the afternoon of October 24, the award ceremony for the 4th China Fine Arts Awards, organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles (CFLAC) and the China Artists Association, was held at the National Museum of China. The event was attended by Tie Ning, Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress and Chairperson of CFLAC, along with Li Yi, Party Secretary and Vice Chairperson of CFLAC.

At the ceremony, the winners of the prestigious awards were announced. Professor Lyu Pinchang, Acting President of Jingdezhen Ceramic University, received the Special Award of the China Fine Arts Awards, while Feng Jiabao, a master’s student in Ceramic Art from the class of 2021, was awarded the Bronze Award. This remarkable achievement means JCU secured all the awards from Jiangxi Province at this year’s event—only two in total—marking a historic breakthrough. Both Lyuand Feng attended the ceremony to receive their accolades, and Professor Lyu delivered an acceptance speech.

In his speech, Lyu expressed his deep honor in being entrusted by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and CFLAC to lead the Central Academy of Fine Arts’ creative team in completing the thematic sculptureFaithfor the Exhibition Hall of the History of the Communist Party of China. He described the project as an unforgettable artistic experience that deepened his understanding of Party history and his sense of responsibility as an artist.

“This was a once-in-a-century monumental project,” Lyu stated, “and we were lucky to be part of it. The sculpture, crafted from pure white marble, eternalizes the sacred moment of the ‘oath-taking’ of 71 figures of Communist Party members, encapsulating their spirit and legacy. It is both a timeless work of art and a contemporary reflection of the spiritual values and ethos of the Communist Party of China.”

The China Fine Arts Awards, approved by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, is hosted by the CFLAC and the China Artists Association. It aims to recognize outstanding art pieces that capture the spirit of the era and express human emotions, encouraging artists to strive for artistic excellence and document the enduring epic of the people. The awarded works are selected from the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, which is held every five years, making this award the highest national honor in the field of fine arts.

The winners were chosen from over 70,000 submissions to the 14th National Exhibition of Fine Arts, with 9 Gold Awards, 14 Silver Awards, and 17 Bronze Awards.
