From November 27 to 30, 2024, Zhao Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, made an official friendly visit to Greece at the invitation of Greek Parliament Speaker Tassoulas. As a testament to the friendship between the two countries and the result of China-Greece cultural exchanges, a peony ceramic work, “Picture of Prosperity” by Professor Liu Wenbin from our university, was displayed during the talks. This piece symbolizes the flourishing friendship between China and Greece.
In February 2023, during a visit to Greece, then Vice Premier Sun Chunlan presented this peony ceramic work as a national gift to Speaker Tassoulas. The piece was permanently collected by the Greek side and has since become a symbol of the friendship between the peoples of China and Greece.

Professor Liu Wenbin, with his profound artistic skill and expert use of ceramic materials, created this full-bodied, vibrant peony ceramic work. Through his unique technique of combining hand and brushwork, Liu skillfully utilized different finger and palm angles to depict the national flower of China, the peony. Through his meticulous craftsmanship, the elegant and majestic beauty of the peony is vividly and naturally brought to life, leaving viewers in awe.
