Pu Shouzhi extended a warm welcome to President Oriol Calvo Vergés and his delegation, and spoke highly of the IAC’s significant role in the global field of ceramic arts. He noted that the IAC has long been committed to promoting international exchange and cooperation in ceramics, making outstanding contributions to the inheritance and innovation of ceramic art. As the world’s only comprehensive university named after ceramics, JCU is dedicated to cultivating high-quality ceramic art talents with a global vision and advancing the integration of ceramic art and technology. The university’s Party Committee attaches great importance to its collaboration with the IAC and will fully support the deepening of cooperation in ceramic art education, scientific research, and cultural exchange—especially in successfully organizing the 52nd IAC Congress and the “Future of Porcelain” International Ceramic Art Biennale, both to be held in Jingdezhen in 2026. These events will not only showcase Jingdezhen’s ceramic culture on the global stage but also serve as key opportunities to advance the National Ceramic Culture Inheritance and Innovation Experimental Zone. The university will take concrete actions to enhance Jingdezhen’s international influence as a global ceramic culture center, deepen partnerships with world-class ceramic art institutions, and elevate its efforts in ceramic art education, research, and cultural outreach. It aims to contribute to building a world-class ceramics university and inject new vitality into the global development of ceramic arts.

Oriol expressed his deep admiration for the university’s long history, remarkable scale, and outstanding global reputation in ceramic arts education. He noted that JCU is not only a key institution for ceramic art education but also an important bridge for global ceramic cultural exchange. The IAC has always been committed to promoting the development and innovation of ceramic arts worldwide, and JCU plays an irreplaceable role in this field. He stated that the IAC looks forward to deepening cooperation with JCU, particularly in the upcoming 52nd IAC Congress and the "Future of Porcelain" Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale, to be held in Jingdezhen in 2026. He expressed the hope that both sides can work closely together to advance international exchange and collaboration in ceramic arts. Looking to the future, he hopes for more opportunities to cooperate and jointly promote innovation and development in ceramic arts, contributing further to the inheritance and advancement of global ceramic culture.

Before the meeting, Oriol and his delegation visited the JCU Museum, Graduate Art Experiment Building, Student Activity Center, and International Academic Lecture Hall, and held discussions on preparations for the 2026 IAC Congress.
